About

As the Covid-19 outbreak has shut down schools internationally, students have been left without the ability to celebrate the 2020 school year. Yearbooks are a great way for students to commemorate and remember the school year, with the most personal and exciting part being collecting signatures. These signatures come from both close friends, with inside jokes and meaningful stories, and from acquaintances, classmates that students got to know over the course of the year. These signatures are a reminder of all the good that happened in the school year -- something many students are needing right now. Not only is it full of memories, but the signatures of friends are a great remembrance of the relationships formed and the impacts they had on others. While Covid-19 has caused many memorable experiences to be changed or cancelled, it is still important to celebrate the joyful memories, accomplishments, and friendships prior to the school closure. This website provides a platform for you to create a personal yearbook, and sign others'. With easy steps, friends can upload photos to your personalized yearbook with their signatures.

The idea is for each person to create a Google Docs. The Google Docs will then be linked on this website, where people can access their friends' virtual yearbooks. They then request access to edit, where the friend has to approve them. Once approved, they can add pictures and notes for the friends "yearbook" and the friend can format/print it once everyone has signed it. Plus, clubs can create docs that will be accessible on this website so people can add photos from their sports teams and other communities. That way, each person will have a unique yearbook personalized to their interests and friendships!

We are 10th graders at Garfield High School in Seattle hoping to connect people and mimic yearbook signing virtually. Please email us at virtualyearbook2020@gmail.com with any questions!

Hope you enjoy your virtual yearbooks!
